I live in Kalispell and as a massage therapist, always wanted to go to the Spa at The Lodge in Whitefish. I booked an hour and a half deep tissue session, $145.00. My female therapist was dressed in plain brown hospital-type scrubs, and all 3 female therapists I saw there were pretty plain looking, are they told NOT to wear makeup? After filling out a short medical intake form (and no waiver as I recall) she took me to the massage room which had a tile floor. (and no padding for the therapist to stand on while working) The table was ok, the therapist never asked if I needed the face cradle/cushion adjusted for my neck. When I asked her for more pressure, she obliged, and seemed to have a decent grasp of anatomy when I asked about muscle groups. I got a little cold, and she did turn up the table warmer, and put a moist, warm towel on my back, that, having peppermint added to it had a cooling effect after the warmth wore off. Decent deep tissue work. Another warm towel was applied to the front of my neck after I turned over on my back. She used another warm towel to wipe the oil off my feet before I was allowed to get off the table onto the tile floor. She forgot to remove the bolster before leaving me to get off the table. I could hear noise and talking amongst clients and therapists in the hall during my massage, a little distracting. I was never asked what type of music I might prefer. I understand spa therapists don't make alot of money so I left her a $15.00 tip, as she did pretty decent work. So all together I spent $160 for 90 minutes of "pretty good" therapy. Not fantastic, but I've had worse. Not a great value for my dollar. I won't be back unless it's free. Have to give them a credit card to hold the appointment, and if ya cancel inside of 24 hours they'll charge it anyway. They did call me the day before and leave a message reminding me of my appmt. When I booked they told me to bring my swim suit and use the pool, but the hot tub is outside, and it was 15 degree weather so I didn’t get in. I never told my therapist I too was an LMT, after paying I handed my business card to the receptionist and told her to give it to the girl who worked on me. Told me she had to work 3 jobs. Maybe they would have enough business that she could work there full time if she wanted if the spa would bring down the price.
Do not waste your money! My boyfriend booked a couples massage for my birthday. Appointment was at 10 am for a 90 min massage. Showed up on time. They had us fill out paperwork and left us to sit in waiting room for about 10 min. Therapists came and got us and brought us to the room and asked what we wanted and we both upgraded to 90 min deep tissue. They left us for about 15 min to change. By the time they started is was close to 1030. The massage was just ok. She did not work on problem areas, just did her routine. At 1120, not even 60 min later they both said we were finished and left the room. Not even a 60 min massage! When we went to pay they added on 18 percent gratuity. Our bill was over $400 dollars. For a mediocre 50 min massage. I'll never go back and recommend finding somewhere else for your spa day
My wife and I booked a couples massage at the end of our trip to Whitefish, however our booking got changed to a single somehow even though we had confirmed our appointment the day prior. They only had one therapist available. They offered no solution to the issue, and we ended up leaving without a massage since nowhere else had last minute bookings.
I was worried to book here due to the reviews. I told them when I showed up for my apt that I saw a couple reviews from people saying they didn't get the full time they paid for and the girl at the desk said it was most likely b/c they were late. I paid for an 80 min massage and even after I mentioned it at the desk and showed up 15 min early I STILL only got a 70 min massage. I'm giving them 4 stars still b/c the massage was still very good!!
