They ignored multiple letters they requested so they can charge a monthly fee for a free checking account.

I've had dealings with a number of different banks over the years and though everyone was polite, First Interstate Bank is the first bank that made me feel like the priority was to collect fees and not look at the past and present relationship that has been built with their customers. I moved my and my partner's business elsewhere -a small town bank
I had been with this bank for 6 years. It was the first bank that I got when I moved to Whitefish. I always enjoyed the kind ladies at the counter. They signed me up for the regular checking and I used it on and off for a number of years but always kept small amount in it ($500+). This specific checking account requires a $500 minimum and they charged $9 a month every month if you drop below. I didnt know/remember this and for a number of months i didnt notice that i was receiving fines. Tried to explain the situation and felt like they were only willing to help and return a minimum amount ($27 back)and my "free" checking cost me $54. Ironically, with this account you have a free line of credit of $500, if you overdraft, but you get punished if you go below $500...?
Would be nice to know you all chose to take this day off on the website.
Very friendly staff, very attractive lending products. I was offered credit for my buisness the day I signed up! Total polar opposite from the other big bank in whitefish!
